Welcome
The pediatricians and staff at Emerald Pediatrics feel it is our privilege to care for your child. We wish to provide superior pediatric care in a friendly, accessible environment. We respect the individuality of each family and are committed to assisting you in providing the best environment for your child's medical, developmental and emotional well-being.
We are proud of our team of pediatricians, nurses and clerical staff who work diligently to make your experience and your child's experience as pleasant and efficient as possible.
What´s New:
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, there are early indications that influenza activity in the United States is beginning to increase. Anyone 6 months of age and older who has not yet gotten their flu vaccine, should get vaccinated now. It takes about two weeks after vaccination for your body to develop an immune response. Flu vaccine is safe and can protect you against flu illness. Call our office to schedule an appointment.
We are still in the midst of our transition to an Electronic Medical Record (EMR). We appreciate your patience with us as we continue to make this important transition.
To help us better care for your child, you will now be required to fill out a yearly health history form for each child that you bring to our practice.
As always, we require that you present your current insurance card at every visit.
In an ongoing effort to better serve our patients, our office will be implementing Electronic Prescribing. This procedure will hopefully save you wait time when you arrive at the pharmacy. Prescriptions will be sent electronically to all pharmacies now accepting electronic prescriptions. Most major pharmacies have already enrolled in this program. Please inform your nurse of your preferred pharmacy. We are happy to supply a paper prescription if this is your preference.
In other news, the physicians of Emerald Pediatrics have made the decision, after much consideration, to cease rounding in the hospital on newborn patients after delivery. If we are your pediatricians, please let the nurses at the hospital where you deliver know, and your baby will be seen and taken care of by the neonatologist or pediatrician on staff. The neonatologist or pediatrician will then let you know when you need to follow up with us in the office. Most babies will need to be seen within 3-5 days after discharge from the hospital. We hope that this decision will allow us to spend more time in the office seeing our patients.
